In two days my fiancé and I will share our seven year anniversary together. Two weekends ago, we celebrated early at the Hillbrook Inn near Charlestown, WV. We also stopped by a little town called Harper’s Ferry on the way home.
It’s absolutely gorgeous and the trip was a little reminder to ourselves. It was kindling to our ever burning fire.
Today I have few words. Only a photo and an observation:
It’s the small sleepy towns that make us feel whole again. It’s the leaving that keeps us coming back. Escaping the everyday into the unknown and finding ourselves in the cold bones of the mountains. There’s comfort there. Comfort in knowing that even in the harshest winter, a bright sun can peak through to warm us.
P.S. It doesn't have to end like this
